First: What Size Unicycle Do You Need?
First you should select your unicycle (unicycle decriptions are on the top of each page) for what you want to do with it.
Now what size do you need?
12 inch wheel unicycle: This is ideal for young children ( generally 4 to 7 years old, depending on their size) to first learn to ride, or as a trick or a clown unicycle.
16 inch wheel unicycle: This is a children's unicycle, generally around 6 to 10 years. The small wheel makes it only suitable for smooth ground surfaces.
20 inch wheel unicycle: Generally this is the most popular size unicycle as the wheel size is ideal for not only learning but for doing quick turns, tricks etc. They are considered to be the BMX of the unicycle world. Ideal for unicycle hockey, basketball etc.
24 inch wheel unicycle: A popular adult size choice for recreational riding. Excellent for outdoors on paths, off-road and open areas, although the bigger wheel can make some more advanced tricks harder. An excellent size unicycle to learn on, with it's bigger wheel and great for Muni and Trials with a big tire on it.
wheel unicycle: This is the machine for Muni/Mountain Riding. If you are interested in off-road then this is what you need if you are not a beginner. These are also great street unicycles.
28 inch wheel unicycle: This is a commuter and road riding sized wheel. The big wheel makes for a fast and smooth ride. You can also use this unicycle for off-road, especially if its fitted with a 29" tyre. For advanced riders.
wheel unicycle: This is a commuting unicycle which will get you where you are going quicker. They are fast and smooth and are not a learners unicycle!
Now you know which unicycle you want to ride, you need to check that you are tall enough for it. Here is a rough guide. Remember these sizes are from crotch to the floor with shoes on, not your trouser length.
